Introduction
GTM Fixer ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension handles data when you use our services.
Data Collection
GTM Fixer operates entirely within your browser and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers, with the following exceptions:
- Google Analytics 4 Annotations: When you choose to use the GA4 Annotations feature, you authenticate with Google using OAuth 2.0. We receive an access token that is stored locally in your browser to communicate with Google Analytics API on your behalf. This token is used only for creating annotations and is never sent to our servers.
- QA Reminders with Email: If you choose to set up email notifications for QA reminders, your email address is stored locally in your browser and sent to our secure backend service only when sending reminder emails. We do not store your email address on our servers permanently.
- Extension Updates: We check for extension updates from a Google Sheet to notify you of new features. This does not transmit any personal data.
Local Storage
All GTM Fixer settings, preferences, and data are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This includes:
- Feature enable/disable preferences
- QA reminder schedules and notes
- GA4 authentication tokens (when using annotations feature)
- Email addresses (when using email notification feature)
This data never leaves your device except when you explicitly use features that require external communication (GA4 Annotations, Email Notifications).
Third-Party Services
GTM Fixer may interact with the following third-party services when you use specific features:
- Google Analytics API: Used only when you choose to create GA4 annotations. Requires OAuth 2.0 authentication with Google.
- Email Service: Used only when you choose to receive QA reminder emails. Your email is sent to our backend service solely for sending reminder notifications.
- Google Sheets: Used to check for extension updates. No personal data is transmitted.

GTM Fixer requests the following Chrome permissions:
- storage: To save your preferences and settings locally
- activeTab: To inject features into Google Tag Manager pages
- scripting: To enhance GTM interface with our features
- alarms: To schedule QA reminders

Data Security
